Hormones Out of Whack?

The Wonders of Our Hormones… But sometimes not very funny!!

It’s totally realistic to feel better in your 40’s and 50’s than you did/do in your 20’s and 30’s.

So if you’re thinking because your feeling unbalanced now…. that your health will continue to slide, then I’d like to give you this good news according to leading hormone experts from around the world.

You can rebalance you hormones naturally and clear up ALL of those annoying and sometimes debilitating side effects associated with hormonal imbalance.

Hormones are chemical messengers in our bodies. Think of them as like a text message… for example going from the brain to your thyroid which then effects your hair and skin.

When you feel balanced you feel great, sleep soundly, wake up feeling at peace with lots of energy. You feel hungry when you should and satisfied after eating… not feeling bloated and chunky. You’ll have more ease and harmony with balance hormones.

Our cells are perpetually bathing in a ‘broth’ of hormones (usually from the blood.) In women, that broth changes on a minute by minute basis, depending on factors like steps, exercise, pregnancy, cycles and the food that we eat.

Why Should You Care?

For some, hormonal imbalance is why you feel like you need a sleeping pill or to spend hundreds of dollars on a new skin cream. Hormones are tied to joy and depression, or if you’re feeling grateful or neurotic. They make you feel like you have brain fog of they make you interested or uninterested in life. They dictate if you store fat or burn it and so they become increasingly important as we get older.

Every women has unique nutritional needs We can apply a science based correction plan for hormone balance by leveraging what ever it takes. That could be nutrition, herbs, amino acids, B Vitamins, ancient methodology and bioidentical hormones.

Weight gain, mood swings and fatigue aren’t issues that can be cured with a quick injection or a pharmaceutical. Most of these problems can not be solved just by eating less or more or by exercising.

They’re hormonal problems, which means our bodies are trying to tell us something is wrong and with rigorous strategy we can solve them.

You can control your hormones by the way that you eat, move, think and supplement. If you care about sleep, skin and digestion, you’ll care about your hormones.

There are many hormones, but we’ll focus on 7 majors. These are Cortisol, Oestrogen, Progesterone, Testosterone, DHEA, Thyroid and Insulin.

Before we see how to treat them, we need to understand these hormones as they all have big personalities!

Starting with the King Pin hormone….

1. Cortisol: This guy is made by the adrenal glands (at the top of our kidneys.) This is your stress response, nervous system, bones, immunity, circulatory and metabolism of fats, protein and carbs.

in 99% of cases, the root cause of hormonal imbalance is their cortisol is out of balance. Cortisol is likened to the ‘bad boyfriend’ you knew was bad but you went their anyway smile emoticon

High Cortisol can cause skin breakouts, acne, sleep issues, hard to relax and put holes in your gut that can lead to bloating!

If unbalanced, you’re stress response reaches a ‘high’ and then tends to stay there and not come back down to balance. This can throw a lot of your other hormones of balance, causing continual health issues.

So you can see why your adrenals (where your cortisol is made) may be one of the most important parts of your body to nurture.

Next time, we’ll continue to look at the rest of the 7 hormones and then how to rebalance them again.

Hope this helps 🙂

P.S.  If there’s anyone in your life (friend, family, employee) who feels they want to do better with their health, please share this post. It might be the fresh perspective they need to feel better.
